Root problems – using copper to remove

Are you having issues with roots in your sewer laterals?  Do you go to the store to buy a project to help with this issue?  If so, we ask that you DO NOT USE ANYTHING THAT IS COPPER BASED or has COPPER SULFATE in it.  These are usually the products that are cheapest to buy at the store – usually around $10.00 instead of $40.00 but create issues for the Village.

Using products with copper creates a spike in our samples at the Waste Water Treatment Plant and the Village to exceed our limits with the DNR.

The general area for this issue is the older part of town from Tower Street to Graham Street.

If you have questions, please contact John Bond at 715-760-1312.

Thanks,
